Rejuvenating the Wood

Had a good day to plant out 20 trees donated by the Woodland Trust. These were transplanted from Jealotts Hill Community Landshare to the wood.

There were a mixture of:

  • Oak (7)
  • Rowan (3)
  • Silver birch (3)
  • Hawthorn (2)
  • Hazel (4)
  • Holly (1)

The trees were planted in the area that has been cleared of rhododendron over the past 3 years by Warfield Environment Group and other community volunteers working with the Rangers.

We also cleared more rhododendron – almost all done in that area now.
